Whiskey Mountain, an alt-punk four-piece hailing from the heart of Nampa, Idaho, Founded in 2022 during a Covid inspired mid-life crisis by Randy King, the band represents a passionate rebellion against the aging process. Driven by the old punk mantra “here is three cords, now start a band” Whiskey Mountain is all about spreading love and connection while rocking out.
Growing up in the thriving metropolis of Greenleaf, Idaho, singer and guitarist Randy King knows that hard work can overcome a lack of talent and that he’s living proof of it. A veteran of the early 00s punk scene in Boise, Randy took a couple of decades off to raise a family and pursue a career as an educator and chef. Yet, his inner nerd never wavered, infusing his songs with the wisdom of philosophy, a love of reading, some Dungeons and Dragons references and the gritty realities of adulthood.
Whiskey Mountain’s name is a tribute to Randy‘s favorite place on Earth, Whiskey Mountain in the Owyhee Mountains. Their music defies easy categorization, but they lovingly refer to it as “Sagebrush Punk”. A term they hope catches on, but has not yet…
Join Whiskey Mountain on their journey as they rock hard, age ungracefully and prove that rock’n’roll knows no limit. Whiskey Mountain is here to stay, and they’re ready to take you on a dusty ride through the rugged terrain of Sagebrush Punk. We love you. Enjoy the ride. Be nice.
